Now you have set the date and chosen your venue there's just the rings, dress, suites, colour scheme, flowers, cake, decorations, car, honeymoon to think about and get booked.
Don't forget your Wedding Photgraphy...You spend so much time and money planning for the big day don't risk the capturing of your treasured memories to Uncle John who enjoys taking a few pictures. It will mean a great deal of stress for him and the possibility of a great deal of disappointment for you when the pictures come back.
There are now more wedding photographers than ever before with the advent of digital photography and trying to find the right photographer for you, can be a mine field. Your photographer needs to be good with people as well as good with a camera, he needs to have experience of all styles of photography, he needs to have worked as an assistant with a wedding photographer and have experience of working at different venues, different times of year and in all sorts of weather. Look for a fully qulified member of one of the leading photographic organisations and someone with at least some real experience and personality.
It can be tempting to choose your photographer by price after all almost everyone is working to a budget but remember you generally get what you pay for and that after cake is eaten, the suits returned, the dress is cleaned and put away and the flowers have died your photographs will become your most important memories of your special day. Also with photographers charging anywhere between £350 and £3,500 and even more, for what may seem like a similar coverage or product it's a daunting decision. When you actually start to see the style of the photographer and the quality of their finished work and albums you should start to see why there is such a difference in price. The longer you can book ahead the more choice you will have as to which photographer you can choose.
Do try to meet with at least 3 or 4 wedding photographers - visit their studio and look at various examples of their work - ask to see complete preview sets of images from a wedding ( not just a book of there best shots ) See a variety of final finished albums - ask how they dress on the day - ask about their back up equipment, ask what happens if they cant do your wedding for some unforeseen reason, make sure they are fully insured and most importantly make sure you get on well with them, because they really are like another guest at your wedding and you will probably see as much of your wedding photographer as you will of your other guests.
So don't leave your wedding photography to chance - leave it to a professional - and preferably one who is a qualified member of the MPA - SWPP or BIPP with this alone you know you will be dealing with an experienced and knowledgeable professional who will be able to capture your day perfectly.
